Grace is 4!

Grace turned 4 on Wednesday the 13th.  It's a fun age because they finally "get" it.  She was telling everyone she saw that on Wednesday she would be 4.  And she woke up that morning and the first thing she said to me was, "I'm four now."  Her verbal skills have improved a lot over the last 6 months or so, as have her fine motor skills.  She is drawing pictures that are often recognizable and can color within the lines - though she like to use LOTS of color!  She can "draw" most letters and with verbal help she can write her name.  She's grown up so much, it's hard to believe my little girl is 4!  She's finally grown physically, too!  She tips the scales at 29 lbs. and reaches 3 feet up into the sky!  I know, she's still tiny, but that is actually remarkable growth for her in one year.

We have a tradition that each child, on their birthday, may choose anything (within reason) that they want to eat for their birthday dinner.  Grace, always the individual, wanted cold cereal.  And she didn't even mind if it was just something out of the cabinet (which, by the way, is not exciting).  So, I took here to the store and let her pick anything - it was too hard for her - but we did end up coming home with Coco Puffs, which is a popular pick.  They also get to pick their cake, and in this respect, she was decidedly not individual.  Chocolate on chocolate!

Happy Birthday, Grace!
