Joseph did finally make it to Lusk, WY where his boss has managed to find him lodging for the next two weeks. Yay! He'll be where it's warm! He says he loves his new job and he will be employed in Lusk, not Rawlins. So that part has been settled already. His truck is, well, there. Hopefully the mechanic can get it working without costing too much.
Brrrrr!
Wow, is it cold! Our low last night was -14F and our high yesterday was 4F. We are managing to stay warm, though the kids don't last long when they go outside (I still can't keep them in!). They have complained that, although we have a bunch of snow, it's no fun to play in - unless you go sledding, of course! The snow is much too dry for snowmen or snowballs (but easy to shovel!). The chickens are surviving, I think - I haven't been out there yet this morning ;D Their egg production has cut in half and they are staying inside where it is warm - relatively speaking. We've only managed to keep their coop at about 32F, but since some of them still slept outside when nights were 22F, I'm not all that concerned. We just have to keep their water from freezing and collect the eggs before they freeze.
